Insights

  • The 100 AgriTech funding deals raised about $2.30 billion in total. The 2024 deals represented about $1.02 billion, making 2024 the largest year in this dataset.
  • AgriTech market funding remained highly concentrated. Five deals raised more than $100 million each and together represented more than one-third of all capital collected.
  • Farm robotics attracted several of the largest AgriTech funding rounds. Monarch Tractor, Ecorobotix, Carbon Robotics, Halter, and other automation companies received substantial backing.
  • Biological crop protection became a major AgriTech funding theme. Investors supported peptide products, microbial inputs, biofungicides, RNA-based pesticides, and natural insect-control technologies.
  • Livestock technology expanded beyond basic monitoring. AgriTech companies raised capital for virtual fencing, methane reduction, cattle genetics, feed monitoring, and connected animal-health systems.
  • Halter completed two major rounds during the period. The livestock technology company raised $100 million in 2025 and another $220 million in 2026.
  • Several AgriTech companies returned for additional funding. Inari, Carbon Robotics, Kilter, Number 8 Bio, MustGrow Biologics, and Halter each announced more than one separate round.
  • Artificial intelligence appeared across most AgriTech market segments. Companies used AI for seed design, crop monitoring, soil analysis, precision spraying, farm robotics, and livestock management.
  • Smaller AgriTech rounds remained important for early innovation. More than 20 deals were below $5 million and often supported sensors, biological inputs, robotics, or specialized farm software.

Summary table of the funding deals for the AgriTech market since 2024

We define the AgriTech market as technologies purpose-built to improve agricultural production and input performance up to the farm gate.

We include on-farm hardware/software and services (precision ag, automation, sensors, farm management, decision support) plus agricultural input innovation (seeds/traits, crop protection, biologicals, fertilizers, animal health and feed).

We exclude downstream food processing/retail and consumer food apps, as well as generic logistics/fintech/enterprise software unless they are specifically designed for agricultural production use cases.

We focused exclusively on pure players, defined as companies with at least 70–80% of their business directly tied to the AgriTech market.

Our analysis has been done at a global level with a minimum funding threshold of $300k.

You can also read our detailed analysis to understand how funding activity in the AgriTech market has evolved recently.
