- The 73 mental health market deals raised about $2.72 billion in total. The disclosed annual total increased from $829 million in 2024 to $1.13 billion in 2025.
- Drug developers received several of the largest mental health funding rounds. MapLight Therapeutics, Syremis Therapeutics, Draig Therapeutics, and Newleos Therapeutics raised $771 million combined.
- Talkiatry and Grow Therapy raised $360 million in Q1 2026. Both companies are expanding insurance-supported access to mental health clinicians.
- Youth mental health remained a major funding theme. At least 15 deals focused mainly on children, teenagers, students, young adults, or families.
- Substance-use treatment companies continued to attract capital. The funded companies address alcohol, opioids, tobacco, nicotine, and related mental health conditions.
- Artificial intelligence became more visible in the mental health market. Funded companies use AI for clinical documentation, patient support, diagnosis, triage, and clinic administration.
- The mental health market includes both care providers and enabling software. Investors funded therapy networks, psychiatric clinics, school platforms, operating systems, and clinical workflow tools.
- Several companies raised capital more than once during the period. Amae Health, Grow Therapy, InStride Health, Jimini Health, Seven Starling, TadHealth, and Tava Health returned with new rounds.
- Women’s mental health gained dedicated investment through Seven Starling and FamilyWell Health, which focus on pregnancy, postpartum care, fertility, menopause, and related needs.
- Advanced psychiatric treatments are becoming a distinct funding category. Investors backed ketamine care, TMS systems, Spravato services, clozapine therapies, and MDMA-assisted treatment development.
