Insights

  • The 36 social commerce funding deals raised more than $1.07 billion between Q1 2024 and Q2 2026, showing strong investor interest in the social commerce market.
  • Funding reached about $749 million in 2025. This represented almost 70% of all the capital identified across the full research period.
  • Whatnot raised $490 million across two funding rounds. Whatnot alone received almost 46% of all identified social commerce funding.
  • Whatnot, ShopMy, and Flip raised about $800 million combined. These three social commerce companies captured nearly three quarters of the total funding.
  • Live-shopping platforms attracted several of the largest rounds. Investors supported marketplaces that combine video, community interaction, auctions, and direct purchasing.
  • Creator-commerce platforms also gained momentum. ShopMy, Wishlink, Levanta, and Statusphere help brands turn creator recommendations into measurable sales.
  • Conversational commerce became a clear investment theme. Companies such as Vambe, Chpter, Sukhiba, TextYess, Wassist, and Revora use messaging and AI to support purchases.
  • The social commerce market remains global. The funding list includes companies serving North America, Europe, Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia.
  • Smaller early-stage rounds remain common. Many conversational commerce and regional social commerce startups raised less than $3 million to test products and enter new markets.

Summary table of the funding deals for the social commerce market since 2024

We define social commerce as e-commerce transactions that are initiated from social platforms (organic content, creators, live content, or paid social ads).

We include both in-app checkout and click-through purchases on merchant sites, as well as DM-assisted ordering when the purchase is clearly initiated on social.

We exclude commerce that is only loosely “influenced” by social with no attributable initiation, and general marketplaces/resale not primarily driven by social-platform initiation.

We focused exclusively on pure players, defined as companies with at least 70–80% of their business directly tied to the social commerce market.

Our analysis has been done at a global level with a minimum funding threshold of $300k.
