Key valuation trends in the data center market
Insights
- The ten largest data center platforms represent roughly 52.5% of the combined valuation in this ranking, showing how access to power, land and global hyperscale customers concentrates value at the top.
- DayOne, Princeton Digital Group, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres, Nxtra and Chindata represent approximately $47 billion of combined value, highlighting Asia-Pacific as a central growth engine for data center infrastructure.
- DayOne, Princeton Digital Group and ST Telemedia Global Data Centres carry about $40.8 billion of combined valuation against $10.2 billion of funding, underlining the scale of institutional investment flowing into Asian platforms.
- Crusoe’s $10 billion valuation is four times its $2.5 billion funding total, suggesting that investors value the combination of AI computing capacity, energy infrastructure and access to power.
- Global Technical Realty and Echelon have raised a combined $3.75 billion and carry approximately $8.35 billion of value, producing a blended valuation-to-funding ratio of about 2.2 times.
- Verne Global’s $1.1 billion valuation midpoint is almost nine times its $125 million funding total, showing how operating revenue and renewable energy access can support value without multibillion-dollar capital commitments.
- Princeton Digital Group’s $11 billion valuation midpoint is about 244% higher than Chindata’s $3.2 billion acquisition value, indicating a significant premium for diversified data center exposure across Asia-Pacific.
- Nxtra’s valuation is close to Chindata’s acquisition value despite approximately $500 million less reported funding, suggesting that investors are placing a growing premium on India’s data center expansion.

A few word about our methodology
As you can see, we built a database that ranks startups and private infrastructure platforms in the data center market based on their current valuation.
Estimating data center company valuations is not always straightforward. Many operators do not publicly disclose their valuation, and the available information can vary widely depending on ownership structure, development stage and geographic footprint.
To build this ranking, we applied a structured valuation methodology and cross-checked information across multiple reliable sources.
Whenever possible, we relied on direct disclosures. These include announced valuations from completed funding rounds, public filings for listed companies, official acquisition prices and confirmed secondary transactions.
When a data center company is publicly listed, we use its current market capitalization as the reference valuation.
If a data center operator was acquired and no independent valuation can reasonably be estimated today, we use the acquisition price as the main reference point.
When a company recently raised capital but the valuation was not disclosed, we estimate the implied valuation using typical dilution levels for that stage of fundraising.
In some cases, we estimate valuations using operating metrics such as revenue, EBITDA, contracted capacity, megawatts under operation or development, and valuation multiples from comparable data center companies.
When direct financial data is not available, we may rely on carefully selected comparable operators and other signals such as powered land, secured grid capacity, customer contracts, geographic reach and development pipeline.
Data center valuations can be especially sensitive to the distinction between operating capacity and planned capacity. A large announced pipeline does not carry the same value as completed facilities with contracted customers.
We also consider access to electricity, land ownership, construction progress, utilization rates, lease duration and customer concentration when these details are available.
All estimates follow a strict evidence hierarchy. Recent funding rounds with announced valuations carry the most weight, followed by acquisition values, public market data, operating metrics and comparable company analysis.
We also carefully evaluate the age of every data point. Recent information carries more weight, while older data is treated cautiously and adjusted conservatively when necessary.
Whenever information is uncertain or incomplete, we clearly distinguish between confirmed facts and reasonable inferences.
Because valuation data is not always fully public, each data center company in the ranking is assigned a confidence level based on the reliability, recency and consistency of the available evidence.
Full confidence means the valuation is supported by strong and recent evidence. Strong confidence means the estimate is well supported but includes minor inference. Partial confidence means the estimate relies more heavily on indirect signals. Low confidence means available information is limited or inconsistent.
When confidence is lower, we take a more conservative approach by widening the valuation range. This helps reflect the uncertainty and increases the probability that the true valuation falls within the estimated range.
Funding figures also require careful interpretation in the data center market. Some reported amounts represent equity funding, while others include debt facilities, construction financing, joint ventures or capital committed to individual projects.
For that reason, a high funding total does not always mean that the same amount has been invested directly into the parent company. We retain the best available figure while assigning a separate funding confidence level.
This reflects how we conduct all our research, including the work behind our report covering the data center market.
In a world where LLMs hallucinate and unreliable information is everywhere, our goal is simple: provide data you can trust.
If you want the full detail on a specific valuation estimate, feel free to contact us and we will gladly explain.
Finally, know that we update the dataset once per month, so come back here if you need fresh information.

NEW MARKET PITCH TEAM
We track new markets so founders and investors can move fasterWe build living “market pitch” documents for emerging markets: from AI to synthetic biology and new proteins. Instead of digging through outdated PDFs, random blog posts, and hallucinated LLM answers, our clients get a clean, visual, always-updated view of what’s really happening. We map the key players, deals, regulations, metrics and signals that matter so you can decide faster whether a market is worth your time. Want to know more? Check out our about page. How we created this content 🔎📝
At New Market Pitch, we kept seeing the same problem: when you look at a new market, the data is either missing, paywalled, or buried in 300-page reports that feel like they were written in the 80s. On the other side, LLMs and random blog posts give you confident answers with no sources, and sometimes they just make things up. That’s not good enough when you’re about to invest real money or launch a company.
So we decided to fix the experience. For each market we cover, we build a structured database and update it on a regular basis. We track funding rounds, fund memos, M&A moves, partnerships, new products, policy changes, and the real activity of startups and incumbents. Then we turn all of that into a clear “market pitch” that shows where the opportunities are and how people actually win in that space.
Every key data point is checked, sourced, and put back into context by our team. That’s how we can give you both speed and reliability: fast coverage of new markets, without the usual guesswork.
