Sunday owns the strongest technical proof: Memo’s ACT-2 system completed 778 of 785 autonomous laundry-folding attempts, a 99.1% success rate, across unfamiliar rooms and garments. The catch is that this remains one bounded household skill.

Weave has the best evidence that ordinary households will live with an imperfect robot. Isaac 0 has spent months in a small number of homes, giving the company practical feedback that polished demonstrations cannot provide.

Wheels are beating legs for now. Five of the six startups in the comparison use wheeled bases because stability, energy use and safe failure matter more than humanlike walking when manipulation is still the bigger bottleneck.

Remote human help sits underneath much of the category. NEO, Isaac and Memo all include some form of intervention or fallback, so operator cost, privacy and intervention frequency may shape the market as much as hardware performance.

Commercial traction is still mostly top-of-funnel. 1X has the largest reservation book, but no startup has published meaningful revenue, repeat usage, support costs, return rates or broad accepted deliveries.

Weave’s $7,999 price makes Isaac 1 the cheapest serious home robot, yet its $449 monthly plan is only slightly below NEO’s future $499 subscription. That suggests buyers are paying for ongoing software, support and remote assistance, not just the machine.

1X is far ahead in manufacturing preparation, while Sunday may have the more scalable household-data engine through its inexpensive Memory Gloves. One company is betting on factories; the other is trying to learn from thousands of homes before shipping thousands of robots.

The ranking can flip quickly. Sunday takes first place if its family beta reproduces ACT-2 reliability across several chores, Weave enters the top two by delivering hundreds of useful Isaacs, and 1X keeps the lead by turning deposits into dependable deliveries while making Expert Mode an occasional fallback.

Which startups are really competing in home humanoids?

The home humanoid race currently contains four home-first startups: 1X, Sunday Robotics, Weave Robotics and Prosper Robotics.

We also include Astribot and Galbot as adjacent challengers. Both Chinese startups have demonstrated domestic-style manipulation, possess greater manufacturing resources than most home specialists and describe the home as a future market. Their real deployments today, however, remain concentrated in industry, retail, research and commercial services.

Our definition includes wheeled robots with arms. Requiring legs would exclude most of the machines that are closest to doing useful housework. A robot belongs in this comparison when it can move through a home, reach human work surfaces and manipulate everyday objects.

Figure, Apptronik, Agility Robotics and Sanctuary AI remain outside the core field because their commercial work is still overwhelmingly industrial. Tesla, LG, SwitchBot and UBTECH matter as potential competitors, but they are established companies rather than startups. Mentee Robotics also drops out because Mobileye agreed to acquire it.

Funding figures remain uneven. 1X has raised about $126 million according to Tracxn, while Sunday recently announced a $165 million Series B at a $1.15 billion valuation. Public databases show only $500,000 for Weave, plus an undisclosed seed round, so its true total is likely higher. Prosper has raised about $9.9 million. Astribot announced more than RMB1 billion across recent financings, and several databases place Galbot’s cumulative funding near $900 million, although Chinese private-market totals are harder to verify consistently.

Is there a clear leader in home humanoids now?

1X leads the home humanoid market today, but Sunday is close enough to overtake it after one successful household rollout.

1X wins the broad comparison because NEO is already presented as a complete consumer product. Buyers can place an order, choose between a $20,000 early-access purchase and a later $499 monthly subscription, and inspect detailed hardware specifications. The company has also opened a 58,000-square-foot factory employing more than 200 people. No home-focused rival has assembled an equivalent product, manufacturing operation and consumer sales process.

Sunday leads on the hardest part of the product: completing unfamiliar physical work without constant human control. Its ACT-2 model achieved a 99.1% success rate across 785 autonomous laundry-folding attempts in unfamiliar environments. The result covers a narrower range of chores than NEO promises, but it is far better measured.

Weave occupies a useful middle ground. Isaac is cheaper, deliberately simpler and already has a small amount of household exposure. Business Insider reported that Weave has deployed more robots than it employs people; the company has around 20 employees. It’s still a tiny fleet, yet the machines have spent months dealing with real clothes and real customers.

The gap is real, but Sunday could erase it quickly. 1X is preparing to sell at scale, Sunday has the best demonstrated autonomy, and Weave is running the leanest household experiment.

Which home robot is closest to real household autonomy?

Sunday Robotics is currently ahead on autonomous household work because it has published the only large, transparent reliability test in this startup field.

Sunday tested Memo across 785 autonomous attempts involving nine broad garment categories. The robot successfully folded and stacked 778 items, producing a 99.1% overall success rate. The same model operated across unfamiliar rooms, different bed surfaces, varied lighting and garments that were not used for home-specific retraining. Blouses were the weakest category at 94.7%, while several easier categories reached 100%.

The quality assessment was unusually detailed for a robotics company. Sunday graded all 778 completed folds with a predefined five-star rubric. The mean score reached 4.72, and 98.3% received four or five stars. Memo needed a median of two minutes and thirteen seconds per garment, including retries and recovery movements.

Sunday still ran its own test, and the benchmark proves one bounded skill rather than general domestic intelligence. The company openly says that vacuuming, toy organization, coffee making and fastening zippers have not reached the same reliability level. That makes the result more credible because the limits are visible.

Weave says Isaac 0 works mostly autonomously, with specialists intervening when it encounters an unfamiliar garment or gets stuck. The company has not disclosed its intervention rate or published hundreds of comparable attempts. 1X is equally open about its present limitation: NEO arrives with basic autonomy, while a remote 1X Expert can supervise more complicated chores.

Sunday has proved the deepest autonomous household skill. It still needs to show that Memo can transfer that reliability to several jobs people perform every week.

Which home humanoid has the most mature product today?

Weave has the strongest proof of a robot already living with customers, while 1X has built the more complete product that a larger market could eventually buy.

Weave’s first machine, Isaac 0, has operated in a small number of California homes for months. The company declined to publish the exact fleet size, but said it had deployed more robots than its roughly 20 employees. Those machines remain slow and sometimes need human assistance, yet ordinary users have already had to decide whether an imperfect robot is useful enough to keep around.

Isaac 1 turns that stationary laundry machine into a mobile household robot. It can move through rooms, adjust from three feet to five feet nine inches in height, reach up to 80 inches and run for a claimed eight hours. Weave describes two initial workflows: Laundry Flow and Daily Reset. First California shipments are scheduled for the fall, with broader US availability during 2027.

NEO looks more like a finished consumer platform. It has an app, voice control, self-charging, three color choices, a defined support model and a public ordering process. Independent reporting has not yet confirmed broad customer deliveries, however. A recent New Yorker visit described an impressive physical machine that still failed unpredictable tasks and relied heavily on teleoperation.

Sunday currently sits one step behind both. Memo enters family beta later this year, and the company has not disclosed its price, manufacturing volume or number of participating homes. Its software may be stronger, but buyers cannot judge the whole product until families begin using it.

No startup has reached normal consumer maturity. Weave has early field exposure, 1X has the strongest commercial packaging, and Sunday has the most promising pre-deployment autonomy.

Which home humanoid can do the widest range of useful chores?

1X currently has the broadest physical capabilities, although Sunday has proved one household skill far more convincingly.

NEO weighs 66 pounds, carries up to 55 pounds and surrounds its body with soft materials. Its newest hands have 25 degrees of freedom, close to the movement range of a human hand. Recent demonstrations show them plugging in a USB-C cable, opening packaging, manipulating small objects and handling fragile food. Those abilities matter in homes where drawers, tools and appliances were designed for human fingers.

The hardware creates a large potential task range. NEO could eventually fetch objects, open doors, organize shelves, use appliances and perform jobs requiring two hands and whole-body movement. Its AI cannot yet exploit that full range consistently. In an independent demonstration reported by The New Yorker, NEO took more than a minute to retrieve a bottle of water, and 1X expects early users to schedule remote Experts for unfamiliar work.

Sunday has taken a narrower path. Memo’s strongest result concerns laundry, though earlier ACT-1 demonstrations included clearing a table, loading a dishwasher and preparing espresso. Those other chores remain below the reliability standard Sunday now claims for folding clothes.

Weave narrows the product further. Isaac 1 is designed to pick up clothes, carry hampers, fold garments, make beds and return everyday clutter to its place. Its hands have only one actuated degree of freedom each, compared with 25 for NEO’s newest hand. Weave is betting that simple hardware and patient execution can solve enough disliked chores before rivals master human-level dexterity.

The choice today is blunt. NEO offers the widest possible task range, Memo has the best measured skill, and Isaac has the most focused list of near-term household promises.

Are wheels beating legs inside the home?

Wheels are currently winning because five of the six startups in our comparison use them.

Wheeled robots consume less energy, remain stable when power fails and avoid many of the safety and control problems created by walking. Sunday, Weave, Prosper, Astribot and Galbot have all chosen that simpler route.

NEO’s legs become useful in homes with stairs, thresholds and cluttered passages. For now, manipulation causes more failures than movement. Startups are therefore prioritizing reliable arms and hands before solving humanlike locomotion.

Which startup has the strongest household data engine?

Sunday currently has the best system for collecting household training data before manufacturing thousands of robots.

Its sensor-equipped Memory Gloves record people performing ordinary tasks and reportedly cost around $200 to build. Sunday says it has shipped thousands of pairs across the United States, giving the company examples from many homes, objects and room layouts.

1X could eventually build the richer dataset because NEO’s remote Expert system can turn failures in customer homes into supervised examples. Weave has a much smaller pool, but its data comes directly from real customers using Isaac.

Sunday leads today because its learning rate does not depend on how quickly it can manufacture Memo.

Who has the strongest commercial traction in home humanoids?

1X has attracted the most demand, but Weave has better evidence that households will tolerate a robot that is still slow and occasionally needs help.

According to 1X, the company booked its entire first-year production capacity of 10,000 NEOs within five days. The New Yorker separately reported that more than 10,000 people had placed deposits. At the $20,000 early-access price, complete conversion would represent $200 million in product sales. Deposits can be cancelled, and 1X has not disclosed how many buyers will ultimately accept delivery.

Weave’s numbers are dramatically smaller. Slightly more than 20 Isaac 0 units may be operating, based on the company’s statement that deployments exceed its 20-person workforce. The evidence is stronger in one respect: these machines have spent months in homes, and customers know remote intervention sometimes occurs.

Isaac 1 has also attracted unusually broad attention for a small startup. Its launch video passed 18 million views on X, and the company opened reservations with a refundable $250 deposit. Views say little about retention or revenue, but they show that consumers can be interested in a slower, cheaper and less human-looking machine.

Sunday has raised more recent capital than either company, yet it has disclosed no public price, preorder count or paying household fleet. Its family beta will reveal whether technical enthusiasm converts into regular use.

The market remains pre-commercial by normal hardware standards. No startup has published meaningful revenue, renewal rates, weekly usage, customer-support costs or return rates. 1X leads at the top of the sales funnel. Weave provides the clearest early glimpse of what happens after a robot enters the home.

Which home robot offers the best value for money?

Weave’s Isaac 1 is the cheapest serious home robot, but its monthly plan costs almost as much as NEO’s.

Isaac 1 costs $7,999 upfront, roughly 60% less than NEO’s $20,000 early-access price. Astribot’s T1 starts at RMB89,900, or roughly $12,500, although buyers receive a general robotics platform rather than a complete household service. Sunday has not announced Memo’s price.

The subscription comparison is much closer. Isaac costs $449 a month, while NEO’s future subscription costs $499. Weave is only about 10% cheaper monthly despite being 60% cheaper to buy outright. That’s the catch.

Those fees appear to cover more than hardware financing. Both companies expect to provide software updates, repairs, support and some form of remote assistance. Isaac’s subscription payments equal its purchase price after about 18 months. NEO reaches its cash price after roughly 40 months.

An $8,000 robot that reliably removes laundry and tidying from a family’s week could offer better value than a $20,000 robot with broader hardware and frequent failures. NEO becomes more attractive once it performs enough different chores to replace several specialized products or services.

Who can actually manufacture thousands of home humanoids?

1X is far ahead on manufacturing, although its 10,000-unit figure describes factory capacity rather than completed customer deliveries.

The NEO factory covers 58,000 square feet, employs more than 200 people and manufactures motors, batteries, structures, transmissions, sensors and soft components internally. 1X says its reliability laboratory has completed more than 20 million test cycles. A second facility is expected to help raise annual capacity above 100,000 units by the end of 2027.

Producing key components internally gives 1X tighter control over design changes and supply problems. It also creates a heavy fixed-cost base before the company knows how many customers will keep their orders. Manufacturing capacity only becomes a market advantage when dependable robots leave the factory.

Weave aims to place Isaac 1 in 1,000 US homes by the end of 2027. That target equals one-tenth of 1X’s stated initial annual capacity. Weave has not announced a factory of comparable size, a large contract manufacturer or a national repair network.

Sunday has enough capital to build a serious operation, but it has disclosed neither a production target nor a price. Its limited family beta allows more time to change Memo before committing to a high-volume design.

Astribot and Galbot have stronger access to Chinese robotics supply chains. Astribot says its S1 entered thousand-unit delivery and that T1 shipments have started. Galbot reports several thousand orders from industrial customers including CATL, Bosch, Toyota, BAIC and SAIC. Those achievements show manufacturing capability, though supporting robots in private homes will require a different installation and service network.

1X has taken the largest manufacturing risk and created the clearest scale advantage. The next step is proving that production volume can become reliable customer volume.

Which home humanoid startup is moving fastest right now?

Sunday has the strongest technical momentum, 1X is moving fastest in production, and Weave is achieving the most with the smallest publicly disclosed budget.

Sunday’s recent sequence is unusually strong. The company raised $165 million, grew beyond 100 employees, prepared a family beta and published the category’s best autonomy result. Its strategy is coherent: the glove network supplies human demonstrations, the internal robot fleet improves the model, and ACT-2 measures whether those improvements transfer into unfamiliar homes.

1X has concentrated its latest progress in hardware and manufacturing. The company brought the Hayward factory online in three months, hired more than 200 people and unveiled a 25-degree-of-freedom hand. NEO now has substantially stronger physical hardware than the machine first presented to early buyers.

Weave moved from a stationary folding machine to a mobile household product within roughly five months. Isaac 1 adds room navigation, an adjustable torso, an eight-hour battery and broader tidying tasks. The company also plans to expand from a few dozen machines to 1,000 US homes, an aggressive target for a team of around 20.

Funding makes the contrast striking. Public databases record around $126 million for 1X, at least $165 million for Sunday and only $500,000 of disclosed funding for Weave. Weave’s true total is almost certainly higher because another round remains undisclosed, so a precise efficiency calculation would be misleading. Even with that caveat, the startup has progressed unusually far with far fewer visible resources.

Sunday is gaining ground fastest today. Its next test is far harder than publishing a benchmark: families must see similar reliability without researchers controlling the environment.

Which home humanoid has the best safety and privacy setup?

Sunday currently has the cleanest privacy position, while 1X has done the most visible work on physical safety.

NEO uses a lightweight, padded body and tendon-driven arms, but its bipedal design still creates fall risk. Sunday and Weave avoid that problem with passively stable wheeled bases.

Remote operation creates the bigger privacy concern. Sunday says customers must request assistance and that intervention data will not be used for training. 1X and Weave also disclose remote help, but neither has published detailed operator-access statistics or independent security audits.

No startup has enough household deployment history to claim proven safety.

What can 1X and Sunday do that competitors cannot easily copy?

1X owns the broadest company-level advantage, while Sunday may possess the stronger long-term data advantage.

1X controls its hardware, hands, actuators, AI, teleoperation, manufacturing and consumer distribution. Reproducing that complete stack would require substantial capital and time.

Sunday can collect household manipulation data through thousands of inexpensive Memory Gloves before manufacturing thousands of robots. Competitors could copy the hardware idea, but recreating the contributor network and accumulated task library would be much harder.

Weave’s focused design gives it speed, though larger competitors could imitate the same laundry-first approach. Its protection must come from customer relationships and execution rather than a uniquely difficult technology.

Could Tesla, LG or Chinese robot makers catch the startups?

LG may be the most dangerous home-focused threat because it already controls appliances, smart-home software, distribution and repair networks.

LG’s CLOiD robot connects directly with the ThinQ ecosystem and has been demonstrated loading washing machines, folding clothes, organizing refrigerators and assisting with cooking. LG can redesign appliances and the robot together, allowing software connections to replace some difficult physical interactions.

SwitchBot has a similar advantage at a smaller scale. It already sells smart locks, curtains, vacuums, sensors and home-control hubs. Its Onero H1 could become the moving manipulation layer above that installed system. Neither LG nor SwitchBot has announced normal consumer pricing or broad shipments, so the startups remain ahead commercially.

Tesla brings manufacturing, batteries, actuators, AI infrastructure and a huge consumer brand. Optimus has so far concentrated mainly on factories, and Tesla has not opened a normal consumer ordering program for a household robot. The company could still compress several years of startup progress once it decides that home deployment is safe and commercially sensible.

Chinese companies create a different type of pressure. Astribot has pushed high-dexterity hardware toward a price of roughly $12,500, while Galbot has raised hundreds of millions of dollars and accumulated large industrial orders. UBTECH has also introduced its consumer-focused U1 series, showing that established Chinese robot makers are moving toward domestic applications.

The startups currently lead in household data and product design. That advantage could disappear fast once appliance groups, car manufacturers and Chinese hardware companies bring existing factories and distribution into the market.

How much of the home humanoid evidence can we actually trust?

Sunday provides the most credible performance evidence, Weave has the best independently reported deployment evidence, and 1X asks us to place the most weight on future execution.

Sunday publishes its number of trials, success definition, garment categories, environmental variation, adaptation rules, quality rubric and completion times. The evaluation remains company-run, but readers can inspect what was tested and where the limits sit. That is far stronger than a compilation of successful clips.

Weave has released fewer metrics. Business Insider nevertheless confirmed that Isaac 0 machines had operated in California homes for months and questioned the founders about autonomy, speed and intervention. As noted earlier, we know the fleet exceeds 20 units, remote assistance occasionally occurs and a fold takes roughly two minutes. We still lack intervention frequency, customer retention and weekly usage.

1X provides detailed hardware specifications and has allowed journalists inside its facilities. Its commercial claims remain harder to evaluate. The company says it booked 10,000 units and can manufacture 10,000 annually, while independent reporting confirms the deposits and factory activity. General customer deliveries, cancellation rates and autonomous task performance have not been disclosed.

Evidence from Astribot and Galbot requires additional care. Reports often mix orders, production capacity, shipments and deployments. They also combine industrial, retail, education and research buyers, making the numbers appear more relevant to household robotics than they are.

We give the most weight to repeated use in independent homes, followed by transparent multi-attempt evaluations, accepted customer deliveries, paid orders, refundable reservations and demonstrations. That hierarchy prevents a large funding round, factory announcement or polished video from deciding the ranking alone.

Which home humanoid startups are actually ahead?

1X is ahead overall, Sunday Robotics is the only startup close enough to take first place soon, and Weave Robotics has earned a clear third position.

1X ranks first because it has gone furthest toward building a complete home-robot company. NEO combines lightweight hardware, highly dexterous hands, a consumer price, an ordering system, remote support and a dedicated factory. As seen above, more than 10,000 early buyers have reportedly placed deposits. No competitor matches that full package.

The lead remains fragile. NEO’s autonomy is still basic, Expert Mode sits near the center of the early product experience, and mass customer deliveries have yet to prove that the factory can produce reliable robots at acceptable support costs.

Sunday takes second because ACT-2 changed the quality of the comparison. As pointed out above, Memo completed hundreds of autonomous trials in unfamiliar environments with a clearly defined success rate. Sunday also has the capital, team and data network needed to turn that research into a product. A strong family beta covering laundry, tidying and kitchen work would probably move Sunday into first place.

Weave ranks third by taking the shortest route to usefulness. Isaac costs less, rolls safely through a home and concentrates on a few chores that people genuinely dislike. Its existing fleet remains tiny, but months of real household operation carry more weight than another broad robot demonstration.

Astribot ranks fourth because it combines low hardware pricing, dexterous manipulation and credible production activity. It would move higher after proving that its robots can deliver a supported household service rather than hardware for developers and commercial customers.

Galbot has far more money and industrial demand, but home robotics remains a future direction rather than its main business now. Prosper is more directly focused on the home, although its recent public progress is too limited for us to place it above companies already shipping new hardware or publishing measurable results.

The ranking could change in three clear ways. Sunday wins by reproducing ACT-2’s reliability in family homes across several chores. Weave enters the top two by delivering hundreds of Isaac 1 units with low intervention and strong repeat use. 1X keeps first place by converting reservations into reliable deliveries while making Expert Mode an occasional fallback rather than the normal way NEO completes work.

OUR METHODOLOGY

This analysis asks which home-humanoid startup is actually ahead today. We compared autonomous reliability, real household use, product maturity, manufacturing readiness, commercial traction, affordability, hardware capability, safety, privacy, training data and recent momentum.

We included home-first startups whose robots can move through a home, reach human work surfaces and manipulate everyday objects. That definition includes wheeled robots with arms. Astribot and Galbot appear as adjacent challengers, while established companies and startups still focused overwhelmingly on industrial work remain outside the core ranking.

We reviewed the freshest relevant evidence available and used each item for the question it could answer. Months of operation in a customer’s home, a transparent multi-attempt benchmark, an accepted delivery, a refundable reservation, a factory-capacity claim and a polished demonstration were not treated as equivalent.

Repeated household use and clearly documented autonomous testing received the most weight. Reservations measured demand rather than revenue, factory announcements measured preparation rather than completed deliveries, and funding helped explain resources without deciding the ranking.

Sunday’s ACT-2 result was treated as strong evidence for one bounded skill, not as proof of general household autonomy. Remote intervention was also counted as part of the current product rather than hidden as an edge case, because all three leading startups still rely on human help for unfamiliar or difficult work.

The final order reflects the strongest combined position across the comparison, so the overall leader does not need to lead every category. This is why 1X ranks first overall, Sunday leads measured autonomy, and Weave leads early real-home exposure and upfront affordability.
