Creator Economy Funding Tracker (185 deals)

Whether you're building or investing in the creator economy, our report covers everything you need to know: the players, the money, and what's coming next.
SUMMARY
Creator Economy Funding Tracker (185 deals) shows a real multibillion-dollar market, but the normal creator startup is operating nowhere near the $5.77 billion headline: 76.1% of observable capital sits in just 13 rounds above $50 million.
Remove those exceptional financings and measured capital falls from at least $5.771 billion to $1.380 billion. The $4.75 million median round is therefore a much better description of ordinary fundraising conditions than the $31.88 million average.
One transaction bends the whole dataset. Kling AI's $2.795 billion financing alone represents 48.4% of observable capital and is large enough to make Asia-Pacific appear ahead of North America by dollars despite having roughly one-third as many deals.
The market is broad at the bottom and narrow very quickly. We found 162 funded companies, but 144 appear only once during the period and just 18 return for another qualifying financing.
AI creation software has effectively become its own capital-intensive funding market. Content Production Software accounts for 29.7% of deals but 75.5% of capital, and it still leads after Kling is removed.
The typical company remains much smaller than the AI outliers. Half of known-size financings are below $5 million, and more than four fifths are below $20 million, even though a handful of nine-figure rounds dominate the dollar totals.
The funding ladder becomes difficult after Series A. We tracked 100 Seed deals, 38 Series As, 17 Series Bs and only six Series Cs, while the median check rises from $3 million at Seed to $80 million at Series C.
Creator commerce is one of the more convincing non-AI pockets because investors can underwrite sales rather than audience alone. ShopMy's repeated financings, $1.5 billion valuation and reported $1 billion-plus annual sales volume show what that looks like when the model reaches scale.
Later-stage capital exists, but there is barely a continuous late-stage venture ladder. Suno, Uscreen and Higgsfield all reached large financing territory through very different paths, from rapid AI scaling to a decade of bootstrapping before institutional capital.
North America remains the deepest funding region by activity, while Europe participates meaningfully at early stages without producing the same large-round tail in this cohort. Investor leadership is fragmented too: even the most recurrent lead or co-lead firms appear in only three deals.
The main lesson is that "creator economy" now covers businesses with radically different capital needs. A lightweight audience tool, a creator-commerce platform, a talent company and a frontier AI video business may sit under the same label, but their fundraising markets increasingly have very little in common.

Where does each dollar actually go? Our creator economy report breaks down the economics of this market.

We track how fast challengers are gaining on the incumbents. Our creator economy report covers every player worth watching.
Is creator economy funding really a $5.8 billion market today?
Creator economy funding looks much smaller today than the $5.77 billion headline suggests.
We tracked 185 financings from January 1, 2024 through September 21, 2026, representing at least $5.771 billion of observable capital. Yet just 13 rounds above $50 million account for 76.1% of that money. Take those exceptional deals out and the total falls to $1.380 billion.
The typical financing lives in a completely different world. The median round is $4.75 million, while the average reaches $31.88 million. A sixfold gap between those two numbers tells us immediately that a small group of enormous checks is pulling the headline upward.
Monthly figures can create the same illusion. October 2024 was the busiest month we found, with 13 financings. July 2026 had only five, yet those five deals represented $2.832 billion because Kling AI landed its giant financing. One month showed broad activity; the other was dominated by one company.
There is also a small measurement caveat. We could calculate a usable amount for 181 of the 185 rounds, and three reported amounts are explicit lower bounds. So $5.771 billion is the minimum capital we can observe with confidence, rather than a perfectly capped total.
| Metric | Result |
|---|---|
| Financings | 185 |
| Unique companies | 162 |
| Observable capital | ≥$5.771B |
| Capital excluding >$50M rounds | $1.380B |
| Capital excluding >$100M rounds | $1.907B |
| Median round | $4.75M |
| Average round | $31.88M |
| Average / median | 6.71x |
| Deals above $50M | 13 |
How many creator economy companies are investors actually funding?
The creator economy funding market currently consists of 162 companies, and nearly nine out of ten appear only once during our almost 33-month window.
That is a useful correction to the 185-deal headline. We count 144 companies with one qualifying financing, 13 with two and only five with three or more. Just 18 companies return to the market at least once.
Some of those businesses clearly raised money before our window or may raise again later, so we should not read a single appearance as a lifetime fundraising history. What we can say is that repeated access to capital during this period is unusual.
The companies that do come back include several of the names that have built real financial scale. Suno, ShopMy, Higgsfield and Duetti each raise multiple times. The wider market is much more one-and-done.
The market is broad at the entry point, then gets selective very quickly. There are plenty of funded companies; there are far fewer companies that investors keep backing.
Is Kling AI making the creator economy funding market look bigger than it really is?
Yes. Kling AI alone represents 48.4% of the observable creator economy funding we tracked, so every headline total needs to be read with that financing in mind.
The $2.795 billion transaction is unusual even by large-round standards. It came alongside Kuaishou's restructuring of Kling AI assets and businesses under Beijing Kling, with outside investors entering the entity. The financing therefore sits somewhere between a giant startup-style capital raise and a corporate carve-out transaction.
Its commercial scale helps explain why investors were willing to write such large checks. Kuaishou reported that Kling AI generated more than RMB650 million of revenue in Q1 2026 and more than RMB850 million in Q2, with Q2 revenue growing over 200% year on year. These days Kling is already a meaningful revenue-generating AI business, not simply an experimental creator tool.
Still, the market does not collapse into insignificance once Kling is removed. Suno has accumulated at least $775 million in qualifying capital, ShopMy $166 million, Uscreen $150 million, Higgsfield $138 million and Substack $110 million.
As seen above, Kling distorts the market heavily. Underneath it sits a small upper tier of genuinely large creator-economy companies, with one extraordinary transaction far above even that group.
| Company | Qualifying rounds | Cumulative capital |
|---|---|---|
| Kling AI | 1 | $2.795B |
| Suno | 3 | ≥$775M |
| ShopMy | 3 | $166M |
| Uscreen | 1 | $150M |
| Flip | 1 | $144M |
| Higgsfield | 3 | $138M |
| Substack | 2 | $110M |
| Duetti | 3 | $99M |
| Pika | 1 | $80M |
| Fixated | 2 | $62.8M |

What can a normal creator economy startup actually raise?
A normal creator economy startup should think in single-digit millions, because roughly half of all financings we tracked are below $5 million.
Among the 181 rounds with usable amounts, 91 are below $5 million and another 59 fall between $5 million and $20 million. Together, those two bands represent more than four fifths of known-size financings.
The money distribution goes the other way. All 91 sub-$5 million deals combined add up to only $212.7 million, or 3.7% of known capital. Seven financings of $100 million or more absorb $3.964 billion.
For founders, the $4.75 million median gives a much more realistic reference point than the $31.88 million average. A $3 million Seed or an $8 million Series A fits the center of this market much better than the rounds that make headlines.
That is why creator economy funding can look huge from the outside while individual founders still experience a fairly conventional early-stage fundraising market.
Which part of the creator economy is getting the most money?
Content Production Software is currently taking the largest share of creator economy funding by a huge margin, with 55 deals worth $4.356 billion.
Those 55 financings represent 29.7% of transactions but 75.5% of observable capital. Creator Platforms are nearly as common, with 47 deals, yet they attract only $531.3 million. Monetization Tools follow with 34 deals and $403.1 million.
Kling amplifies the Content Production number dramatically, although the category remains first even after removing it. Without Kling, Content Production Software still accounts for about $1.562 billion, supported by companies such as Suno, Higgsfield and Pika.
Commerce Infrastructure stands out for a different reason. It has only 14 deals, but its $6.95 million median is relatively high. Audience Growth Tools show almost the opposite profile: 23 companies get funded, yet the category attracts only $136.7 million in total.
The creator economy currently contains several very different funding markets under one label. Audience tools, talent services and ordinary creator software mostly live in small-round territory. AI creation tools have moved into a much more expensive league.
Why are AI creator tools raising so much money right now?
AI creator tools are getting huge checks because the leading companies are spending and scaling like AI platforms, with model development, computing, enterprise infrastructure and specialized talent layered on top of ordinary software costs.
Kling is the clearest case. Kuaishou's latest financial results show a business already generating more than RMB850 million in quarterly revenue while continuing to release new video models and professional creation tools. Its Q2 update also described native 4K generation, a faster Kling 3.0 Turbo model and new interfaces for automated batch creation.
Suno is following a similar path in music. The company raised more than $400 million in its Series D at a $5.4 billion post-money valuation after raising $250 million in its previous round. More recently, Suno launched v6, a new generation of models developed with music-industry partners including Warner Music Group, BMG and Believe. The capital is going into an increasingly deep product and industry stack.
Higgsfield reached scale unusually quickly. Its January 2026 funding announcement said an $80 million extension had taken its Series A above $130 million. The company also reported 15 million users, 4.5 million daily video generations and a $200 million annual revenue run rate less than a year after launch.
Those are very different economics from a lightweight creator SaaS product. Investors are funding model improvement, inference capacity, professional workflows, APIs, international expansion and entire ecosystems around generated media. A two-year-old AI creation company can now need amounts of capital that older creator businesses rarely reached.

Not every part of this market gets the same attention from investors. Our creator economy report shows where the money goes.
Do big creator-platform funding rounds actually create durable businesses?
Big creator-platform rounds have produced very mixed outcomes, which is why funding size alone tells us surprisingly little about whether the platform model has worked.
Substack gives us one side of the story. It raised a $100 million Series C in 2025 to invest further in creator tools, audience growth and its broader network. That financing brought a mature creator platform into the market's $100 million club.
Flip gives us the opposite example. The social shopping company raised $144 million in 2024 at a valuation above $1 billion, making it one of the largest Creator Platform financings in our dataset. By August 2025, The Information reported that Flip had shut down.
Creator Platforms produced 47 financings, so investors are clearly willing to fund the model. But platform economics can be unforgiving when growth depends heavily on paid acquisition, user incentives or expensive competition with established social networks.
Capital gives a creator platform more time to prove the model. It does not remove the need for durable retention, monetization and distribution.
Is creator commerce one of the stronger parts of the market now?
Creator commerce is one of the stronger non-AI areas today, especially when companies can show brands that creator activity leads directly to measurable sales.
ShopMy is the best example in our data. The company raised $77.5 million in early 2025 and another $70 million later that year, taking its valuation to $1.5 billion. Its own latest funding announcement describes a platform built around measurable, scalable product recommendations rather than simple influencer exposure.
ShopMy says it now facilitates more than $1 billion in annual sales, while The Information reported that the company was profitable and had grown revenue 200% year on year around its latest financing. That is the kind of commercial evidence that can support a large growth check.
The wider Commerce Infrastructure category still has only ten companies in our cohort, so this remains a relatively concentrated part of the creator economy. But the checks are meaningful: the category attracts $250.8 million across 14 deals, and ShopMy keeps returning to the market at progressively larger scale.
When a platform can connect a creator recommendation to a sale, commission or measurable return for a brand, investors have something concrete to underwrite.
How old are creator economy startups when investors start writing big checks?
Creator economy companies get funded young, and even the businesses raising more than $50 million have a median age of only four years.
Across the full dataset, median company age at financing is three years. Seed companies are typically two years old. By Series A, the median rises to four years and then barely changes through Series B and Series C.
Round size moves much faster. The median financing climbs from $3 million at Seed to $8.5 million at Series A, $22 million at Series B and $80 million at Series C.
The contrast is even sharper inside Content Production Software. Its median company age is only two years, despite the category attracting the largest checks in the market.
Higgsfield is a good current example of how compressed that timeline has become. The company launched in 2025 and was already announcing more than $130 million of Series A financing in early 2026. AI can push a creator business into scale-capital territory unusually quickly when user growth, revenue and infrastructure needs all accelerate at the same time.

When a market shifts, the old leaders don't always survive. We look at who's paying the price in our creator economy report.
Are investors funding new creator economy startups or doubling down on the same names?
Creator economy investors are mostly doubling down on companies that already have funding history, with follow-ons representing 129 of our 185 transactions.
That works out to 69.7% of all deals. First financings account for 55, with one transaction left unknown.
The check sizes also move the way we would expect. The median follow-on is $6.45 million, compared with $2.89 million for a first financing. Investors generally write larger checks once a company has already cleared its first fundraising hurdle.
Raw capital initially creates a strange picture because first financings account for $3.155 billion. Once Kling's carve-out financing is removed, that figure falls to roughly $360 million.
In practice, the creator economy continually produces new funded companies, but most normal capital goes toward businesses that investors already know.
Where does creator economy funding start to dry up after Seed?
Creator economy funding gets much thinner at every step after Seed, and the real shortage appears once companies need Series B and Series C money.
We count 100 Seed deals, then 38 Series As, 17 Series Bs and six Series Cs. The drop from one stage to the next never really stops.
Meanwhile, the amount investors expect to deploy rises sharply. The median check moves from $3 million at Seed to $8.5 million at Series A, $22 million at Series B and $80 million at Series C.
Some categories hit that wall earlier than others. Audience Growth Tools have plenty of Seed activity and six Series As, but only one Series B and nothing beyond it. Talent Management Services have no Series C or D+ financing in our cohort. Commerce Infrastructure also has no Series C or D+ round.
A creator startup can therefore find plenty of precedent for raising a few million dollars. Once the company needs $20 million, $50 million or $100 million, the peer group gets small very quickly.
| Stage | Deals | Companies | Capital | Median round |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seed | 100 | 95 | $433.0M | $3.0M |
| Series A | 38 | 37 | $512.2M | $8.5M |
| Series B | 17 | 17 | $609.1M | $22M |
| Series C | 6 | 6 | $634M | $80M |
| Series D+ | 1 | 1 | ≥$400M | ≥$400M |
| Growth Equity | 4 | 4 | $207M* | $50M |
| Unknown | 19 | 19 | $2.976B | $4.17M |
Is there a real later-stage creator economy funding market today?
The later-stage creator economy market is currently very thin, with scale capital available for standout businesses but almost no continuous Series C-to-D pipeline.
As we saw previously, only six Series C financings appear across the whole period, followed by one Series D+: Suno's more than $400 million round.
Large growth financings do exist outside that conventional ladder. Uscreen is a good example. The company says it bootstrapped for ten years before taking a $150 million investment from PSG in 2025, its first institutional capital. By then, Uscreen reported more than $1 billion in creator earnings through its platform and over 15 million end users across creator apps.
That path looks nothing like the rapid venture progression of Suno or Higgsfield. It also shows why stage labels can hide some of the more interesting companies: mature, profitable businesses may jump directly into growth capital after years without venture funding.
For now, serious late-stage money is available, but investors are concentrating it in a short list of businesses with clear revenue scale, strong growth or unusually expensive technology.

Failures teach as much as successes. We break down the biggest falls in our creator economy report.
Which region actually leads creator economy funding today?
North America is the clear center of creator economy funding by activity, even though Asia-Pacific appears larger if we look only at raw capital.
North America accounts for 98 deals and 82 companies, giving it 53% of all transactions. Asia-Pacific has 34 deals across 33 companies. Europe has 42 deals across 38 companies.
Capital produces a very different ranking. Asia-Pacific reaches $3.096 billion, ahead of North America's $2.393 billion.
As pointed out above, Kling is responsible for the inversion. Its financing represents 90.3% of Asia-Pacific capital. Once we remove that one transaction, APAC falls to roughly $302 million and North America becomes the dominant funding region by a wide margin.
Europe is interesting for the opposite reason. It contributes almost a quarter of all financings but no round above $50 million. European companies clearly participate in the creator economy startup market, yet the scale-financing tail we see in North America is absent from our cohort.
By consistent funding activity rather than one giant transaction, North America remains the center today.
Which investors keep showing up in creator economy funding deals?
Creator economy funding currently has no dominant group of specialist lead investors; the leadership base is remarkably fragmented.
We identify a disclosed lead or co-lead in 138 financings. Across those deals, 161 different lead or co-lead names appear, and only 17 show up more than once.
Index Ventures, Volition Capital and NFX each appear three times. Even the most recurrent firms therefore touch only a tiny fraction of the 185 deals.
Their patterns are different too. NFX appears around smaller Seed rounds across several creator-software categories. Menlo and Lightspeed show up around much larger Content Production Software financings, including companies operating at the AI end of the market.
Recent rounds also show how quickly syndicates change as check sizes rise. Suno's Series D was led by Bond Capital, while its previous Series C was led by Menlo Ventures. Kling brought together another group of large institutional and strategic investors entirely.
The combined round values below refer to the size of the financings those firms led or co-led, rather than the amount each investor personally contributed.
| Lead or co-lead investor | Deals | Combined size of rounds |
|---|---|---|
| Index Ventures | 3 | $111M |
| Volition Capital | 3 | $60M |
| NFX | 3 | $15.3M |
| Bond Capital | 2 | ≥$440M |
| Menlo Ventures | 2 | $258M |
| Lightspeed Venture Partners | 2 | $129.5M |
| Bain Capital Ventures | 2 | $82.5M |
| Andreessen Horowitz | 2 | $60M |

Some newcomers are growing much faster than the pioneers did. Our creator economy report shows who's moving quickest.
Do big corporate investors actually care about the creator economy?
Corporate and strategic investors clearly care about parts of the creator economy, but they currently participate in only 14.6% of the financings we tracked.
We identify at least one strategic investor in 27 deals. Those rounds have a median size of $8.75 million, compared with $4.30 million when no strategic investor is recorded.
The pattern is concentrated around areas where established companies have an obvious reason to pay attention. Content Production Software and Creator Platforms each account for ten strategic-backed rounds. Commerce Infrastructure has none in our dataset.
AI is making those relationships more visible. Suno's recent product development has moved directly into partnerships with large music groups, while Kling's giant financing attracted major technology and institutional investors. These deals give outside companies exposure to technology that could reshape how media gets created, distributed and monetized.
Talent infrastructure offers another version of strategic capital. Fixated secured a $50 million investment from Eldridge Industries and then acquired Studio71 US in 2026. ProSiebenSat.1 said Studio71 US generated €246 million of revenue in 2025, so that acquisition moved Fixated into a much larger operating footprint rather than simply funding organic hiring.
Strategic money tends to appear where the creator economy intersects with a larger industry: music, AI, advertising, commerce or entertainment infrastructure. Across the market as a whole, financial investors still do most of the work.
What should we actually take away from the creator economy funding data?
Creator economy funding today is a small-round market with a very large upper tail. The headline billions are real, but they describe a handful of companies much better than they describe the typical financing.
The market is broad enough to keep producing new companies. We tracked 162 businesses, and most received only one qualifying financing during the period. Repeated access to capital quickly separates a much smaller group from everyone else.
AI creation has changed the top end of the market. Kling, Suno and Higgsfield show that creator technology can now require the same kind of capital once associated with much heavier technology businesses. Recent revenue and product releases suggest investors are funding real commercial expansion, not just model research.
Commerce is another area where investors are willing to go bigger when the economics become measurable. ShopMy's progression shows how creator recommendations can evolve into infrastructure that brands treat as a performance channel.
The main weakness remains the middle of the funding ladder. Seed rounds are abundant, Series A is still reasonably active, and then the company population narrows sharply. There are very few businesses that make the jump into repeated $20 million-plus institutional rounds.
Late-stage capital exists today, although founders should not mistake exceptional deals for a normal funding path. Suno, Uscreen and the largest AI companies reached that scale through very different routes.
And "creator economy" is becoming a looser financial category. A small audience-growth SaaS company, a creator-commerce platform, a talent business and an AI video-model company can all belong in the same market definition while needing radically different amounts of capital. The aggregate numbers are useful, but the category a company belongs to now tells us almost as much as the total amount of money flowing into the market.
OUR METHODOLOGY
We studied creator economy fundraising announced from January 1, 2024 through September 21, 2026. The objective was to build a quantitative picture of private-company fundraising in the market rather than reproduce the output of a single funding database. The final cohort contains 185 qualifying financings across 162 companies.
We searched company and investor announcements, regulatory filings, official corporate disclosures, reputable financial and industry media, and established funding databases. Material deal facts were cross-checked whenever multiple credible sources were available.
We included qualifying private-company equity financings announced during the period and meeting the deal-size rules used for this research. Debt, grants, loans, public offerings and other non-equity financings were excluded. Where a transaction mixed equity with debt, secondary liquidity or another financing component, we recorded the equity portion when it could be isolated reliably.
We applied a strict market-definition test: creator economy activity had to represent the company's overwhelming core business at the time of financing. Duplicate reports of the same round were consolidated, while genuinely distinct financings, extensions, additional closes and tranches were reviewed individually.
Dates, stages, investors, previous financing history, company age and transaction context were recorded only when supported by public evidence. We did not infer stages from round size, assume that a prominent investor had led a financing, estimate undisclosed deal values or replace vague source information with artificial precision.
Amount coverage is high but imperfect. We have usable numerical values for 181 of 185 financings. Four deal sizes remain undisclosed, and three recorded amounts are lower bounds rather than exact figures, so aggregate capital should be read as observable minimum capital.
After compiling the dataset, we ran a separate quality-control pass focused on missed financings, date boundaries, equity eligibility, company-market fit, duplicated announcements, stage classification, amount interpretation and unusual deal structures. Kling AI received additional review because its multi-billion-dollar financing and accompanying restructuring materially affect several market-level statistics.
