Insights
- The 96 space economy funding deals in this list represent more than $9.3 billion in disclosed investment between 2024 and Q2 2026.
- Space economy funding accelerated sharply in 2026. The 31 deals announced through Q2 2026 already represent about $4.2 billion in disclosed capital.
- Satellite manufacturing attracted several large rounds. Sierra Space, K2 Space, CesiumAstro, Apex Space and Astranis each raised at least $200 million.
- Launch companies remained important, but space economy investors also funded ground stations, propulsion, orbital transport, satellite servicing and space-based computing.
- Orbital data centers became a visible space economy funding theme. Starcloud, Cowboy Space and Orbital collectively announced $450 million in disclosed funding during 2026.
- Space mobility companies raised increasingly large rounds. Impulse Space moved from $150 million in 2024 to $300 million in 2025 and $500 million in 2026.
- Earth observation remained one of the broadest space economy categories, with funding for radar, thermal, hyperspectral and high-resolution imaging companies.
- Several companies raised capital in consecutive years. K2 Space, ICEYE, Northwood Space, Stoke Space, Starfish Space and Impulse Space show strong investor interest in repeat financing.
- The largest disclosed space economy deal in the list was SpaceSail's $943 million round in Q1 2024 for a Chinese broadband satellite constellation.

We define the space economy as the set of activities that design, build, launch and operate space infrastructure and sell services directly based on space data, signals or connectivity.
We include manufacturers, launch providers, satellite and constellation operators, ground-segment and mission-operations providers, and companies whose primary products are satellite communications, Earth observation or navigation services.
We exclude generic consumer devices, broad media and telecom platforms, and downstream industries where space technology is only one of many inputs (such as ride-hailing, logistics or finance that merely rely on satellite navigation or timing).
We focused exclusively on pure players, defined as companies with at least 70–80% of their business directly tied to the space economy.
Our analysis has been done at a global level with a minimum funding threshold of $300k.
