- The 39 XR funding deals in this analysis represent more than $1.33 billion in disclosed investment between 2024 and the first quarter of 2026.
- XR market funding accelerated strongly in 2025. Companies raised about $851 million in 2025, compared with approximately $219 million in 2024.
- Sesame and XPANCEO received the two largest XR funding rounds. Each company raised $250 million in 2025.
- Large funding rounds shaped the XR market totals. Four deals accounted for about $700 million, or more than 80% of all disclosed XR funding in 2025.
- Smart glasses remained one of the strongest XR investment themes. XREAL, VITURE, INMO, Rokid, Sesame, and XPANCEO all attracted major funding.
- The XR market is expanding beyond entertainment. Medical XR companies raised money for surgical navigation, rehabilitation, clinical training, and virtual therapy.
- Enterprise XR remains an important funding category. Investors supported immersive training, industrial maintenance, pilot simulation, remote support, and device management platforms.
- Several XR companies completed more than one funding round during the period. XREAL, VITURE, and Gracia AI each announced separate investments in different years.
- XR hardware companies generally raised larger rounds than XR content studios. Headset, glasses, and wearable display companies received many of the largest investments.
- Smaller XR funding rounds remained important. Deals below $5 million supported early products in gaming, haptics, volumetric video, training, and spatial content creation.

We define the XR market as all head-worn devices that blend digital content with the real or virtual world, plus the software and services built specifically for those devices.
We include virtual reality headsets, mixed reality and augmented reality headsets or glasses, their app stores and content, and associated enterprise software and support services.
We exclude smartphone- or tablet-only AR experiences, flat-screen “metaverse” platforms, core semiconductor and component revenues, and general-purpose PCs or consoles used to run XR content.
We focused exclusively on pure players, defined as companies with at least 70–80% of their business directly tied to the XR market.
Our analysis has been done at a global level with a minimum funding threshold of $300k.
