PLACEHOLDER COVER]

The nuclear fusion market is attracting large investments across magnetic confinement, laser fusion, fusion materials, fuel systems, and specialized reactor components.

We conducted deep research and collected 50 nuclear fusion market funding deals announced between Q1 2024 and Q2 2026.

We refresh this page very often to include newly announced nuclear fusion market funding rounds.

Insights

  • The nuclear fusion market raised at least $6.50 billion across the disclosed deals in this list. The true total is higher because three funding rounds did not disclose an amount.
  • Only 16 nuclear fusion funding deals were worth at least $100 million, but these large rounds represented about 88% of all disclosed capital.
  • Pacific Fusion, Commonwealth Fusion Systems, Neo Fusion, Helion Energy, and Inertia Enterprises received the five largest individual investments in the nuclear fusion market.
  • The nuclear fusion market recorded $2.88 billion in disclosed funding during 2024, helped by very large rounds for Neo Fusion and Pacific Fusion.
  • Disclosed nuclear fusion funding reached $1.79 billion in 2025. Commonwealth Fusion Systems alone represented almost half of that yearly total.
  • The nuclear fusion market had already raised at least $1.83 billion during the first half of 2026, slightly more than the total recorded during all of 2025.
  • Magnetic confinement technologies received funding across tokamaks, stellarators, magnetic mirrors, field-reversed configurations, and pulsed magnetic fusion systems.
  • The nuclear fusion market is expanding beyond reactor developers. Investors also funded magnets, fuel processing, plasma heating, fusion materials, and beryllium production.
  • China became an important source of large nuclear fusion funding rounds, with major investments in Neo Fusion, Startorus Fusion, NovaFusionX, and SunUp Fusion.

Summary table of the funding deals for the nuclear fusion market since 2024

We define the nuclear fusion market as technologies, components, and projects trying to generate commercial energy from nuclear fusion reactions.

It includes Magnetic Confinement Fusion, Inertial Fusion Systems, Fusion Fuel Supply, Superconducting Magnets, Fusion Materials, and Plasma Control Software.

It excludes broader adjacent markets unless the product is built specifically for this use case.

We focused exclusively on pure players, defined as companies with at least 70–80% of their business directly tied to the nuclear fusion market.

Our analysis has been done at a global level with a minimum funding threshold of $300k.

If you want a longer-term view, we also have a study of how funding activity in the nuclear fusion market has changed over the years.
